In 2019, Bangladesh marked its inaugural and, to date, only participation in the Asian Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO). This significant endeavour was spearheaded by the LSBD. Unfortunately, the organisation has since ceased to organise the event locally. Despite numerous efforts by a variety of organisations, groups, and individuals to assume this mantle, a successful transition has yet to materialise.
