The APLO Joint Training is an annual online event that takes place two weeks prior to the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL). Lasting a week, this training is exclusively available to students from the countries and regions that have participated in the APLO in the same year and are also preparing to compete in the imminent IOL.

The event has two primary objectives. On an academic front, it provides an enriching educational experience through a series of comprehensive lectures. These lectures cover a wide array of linguistic and language-related topics and are conducted by experienced linguists and experts who are adept at crafting linguistics problems. This educational component is designed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in preparation for the IOL competition.

On a social level, the APLO Joint Training enables students to connect with each other, creating a sense of camaraderie and shared passion among young language enthusiasts. This platform is not just about academic learning; it’s a space where students can interact, share their experiences, and engage in discussions with peers who have similar interests. These interactions lay the groundwork for lasting relationships, which are further strengthened when participants eventually meet face-to-face during the IOL.
